PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fees should be paid when registering a trademark, adding designated goods, and/or renewing a registration. 
Upon request, the KIPO may extend the time limit to pay the registration fee for a certain period of time but not exceeding 
thirty days.

TERM OF TRADEMARK RIGHT

The term of protection of a trademark registration is 10 years from the registration date. The trademark registration may be 
renewed every 10 years by filing the renewal application.

FENEWAL

The term of protection for a trademark registration is ten (10) years. To renew the registration, a renewal application for the
registration can be filed within a year prior to the expiration date of the registration. A six-month grace period to renew the 
registration is granted for the prescribed (extra) fees after the expiration date of the trademark registration. The evidence on 
use of the trademark is not required when filing a renewal application.
